The pursuit of perfection, then, is the pursuit of sweetness and light. - Matthew Arnold

This is a journey. Like most journeys, there is a destination, but there are also stops along the way. This journal is intended to be my personal motivation, something I am held accountable to in my pursuit of my milestones and destination.
Sometimes, milestones aren't acheived in the order they were originally set out. The path may deviate, or detour, but eventually all places will be arrived at in due course.

Milestone: Lose weight. I currently weigh... too much. My aim, at current, is to lose a minimum of 20kg that will bring me nicely into a 'healthy weight range'.

Milestone: Spend more time outdoors. I work in an industry that keeps us inside far too long, and far too often. I can read outdoors, I can study outdoors, I can use an extension cord and take the computer outdoors. I will do these things.

Milestone: Study. I am a notorious procrastinator. I will aim to be on-track or ahead of all my study goals, whether they be personal or for my degree.

Milestone: Revamp the wardrobe. Sort my clothes, remove those I no longer wear. Sort out what I have left, and then progressively expand the wardrobe to become more of what I want it to be. This will likely result in having two separate wardrobes (which is just fine, since I have three actual pieces of furniture, and two chests of drawers) for casual and business, possibly a third for 'events'.

Milestone: Be more social. Attend social gatherings more often. Organise social gatherings. It doesn't matter if only one person turns up.

These are my milestones. My destination is a better self. A self more like the one I originally set out to be.

The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself. - Anna Quindlen
